Hi Everybody,We have to rename all our accounts users. We made two tests :1/ First, we have changed an account user in the NTLM directory and after the synchronisation, Livelink create a new account user with disabling the old account user. This is a problem because all of the ACL are lost ...2/ Second, we have changed in Livelink the login of the account user before the synchronisation. After the synchronisation, the account user is changed but it is impossible to have a connexion with Livelink ...Configuration :LL : 9.1SP3LDS : 2.2.1OS : W2K SP3RDBMS : MS SQL SRV 2KAuthentification : - NT4.0 PDC- Domain and NameThanks for your helpWith best regards,S. Hi Sebastian,
Did you reset passwords to hidden after the second synchronisation? Hidden passwords in Directory Services are based off the user's login name. If the login name changes, passwords have to be reset.

Hi Everybody,
We have to rename all our accounts users.
We made two tests :
1/ First, we have changed an account user in the NTLM directory and after the synchronisation, Livelink create a new account user with disabling the old account user.
This is a problem because all of the ACL are lost ...
2/ Second, we have changed in Livelink the login of the account user before the synchronisation.
After the synchronisation, the account user is changed but
it is impossible to have a connexion with Livelink ...
Configuration :
LL : 9.1SP3
LDS : 2.2.1
OS : W2K SP3
RDBMS : MS SQL SRV 2K
Authentification :
- NT4.0 PDC
- Domain and Name
Thanks for your help
With best regards,

To rename a username with NTLM synchronisation, change the name in Livelink, then change the name in your external directory (Active Directory), then run the synch. The changed names will match up and a new account won't get created.

Doing thisthrough the database can cause problems.-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: Livelink Directory Services Discussion[mailto:directoryservices@elinkkc.opentext.com]Sent: Friday, January 23, 2004 08:25To: eLink RecipientSubject: To rename a username with NTLM synchronisation, change the namein Livelink,...To rename a username with NTLM synchronisation, change the name inLivelink,...Posted by Wagg, Chris on 01/23/2004 08:23 AMTo rename a username with NTLM synchronisation, change the name in Livelink, then change the name in your external directory (Active Directory), then runthe synch. The changed names will match up and a new account won't get created.[To reply to this thread, use your normal e-mail reply function.]============================================================Topic: LDS 2.2.1 with Sync.
