Advantages over LDAP RO and Full LDAP

Can anyone tell me if there are any advantages in using the Full LDAP synchronisation over RO? We are currently using read only, and LDAP query strings to get the users from Active Directory. This works fine, but I would be grateful if anyone can give me a reason to move to full synchronisation.Thanks

This makes it easy to change a user's login name.Another advantage is the ability to synchronise only new users.
