Message from Chris Wagg via eLinkTo get users that were added to Livelink without using synchronisation to use authentication, you need to add the following line tothe [Security] section of your opentext.ini:hidePasswords=TRUEYou will then need to restart the Livelink service, then reset user passwords to hidden (you need to select "all users" not just"directory services users").All users will now be authenticated automatically by Directory Services.-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: Livelink Directory Services Discussion[mailto:directoryservices@elinkkc.opentext.com]Sent: Wednesday, January 07, 2004 6:57 AMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: Login with an account not sync with LDAPLogin with an account not sync with LDAPPosted by Keller, Stephane on 01/07/2004 05:17 AMHi,we are using DS 2.2.1 with LL 9.1.0.1 French, andtry to login an account created in Livelink but notsync with LDAP.Is there anyone that had already did it ?Because we're not able to login with a user like that.regardsStéphane Keller[To reply to this thread, use your normal e-mail reply function.]============================================================Discussion: Livelink Directory Services Discussion

Hi Chris, thanks for this information. But is it possible to force a non synchronized user to login by using a account and password, not only using is loginname ?For example if we have a workstation that is allow people to acces only to the livelink, without a different user for using this computer, but need to access to Livelink with different user account !Thansk in advance for your answers

Message from Chris Wagg via eLinkForcing non synchronised users to log in is definitely possible. You need to set up a second web site on your web server, for yourLivelink. This web site should not have authentication turned on, that way, the user will be prompted to log in. This web site will use adifferent port, and that is how you will differentiate between the two sites. Synchronised users will use the standars URL, whilenon synchronised users will use an URL like this:
http://servername/livelink:8081/livelink.exePlease
keep in mind that, when you reset user passwords, you will need to choose Directory Services users, instead of All Users.-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: Livelink Directory Services Discussion[mailto:directoryservices@elinkkc.opentext.com]Sent: Friday, January 23, 2004 1:25 AMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: RE Login with an account not sync with LDAPRE Login with an account not sync with LDAPPosted by Keller, Stephane on 01/23/2004 01:21 AMHi Chris, thanks for this information. But is it possible to force a non synchronized user to login by using a account and password, not only using is loginname ?For example if we have a workstation that is allow people to acces only to the livelink, without a different user for using thiscomputer, but need to access to Livelink with different user account !Thansk in advance for your answers[To reply to this thread, use your normal e-mail reply function.]============================================================Topic: Login with an account not sync with LDAP
