How to get debug working in Builder?

Hi Jason,I assumed that if i attach an event script to a step it will be called when that step is ready (which is where i attached the script)How can i trace the execution of my workflow in the debugger to see why my script is not called?

Hi Jason,When I try to unlock webwork i get the same error i've been getting on and off when i try to unlock other Ospaces :-(Is there something special i need to do to some startup scripts or something?I've followed everything to the letter and its just not working

Also you need to have a back up of that file and any othersyou turn off read only access on. Sorry, but you should NEVER, EVER, EVER.....EVER Unlock a core Livelink OSpace. Never!May I ask what it is you are trying to do? There are methods for referencing objects in the core ospaces and you can usually find a way to do almost anything without unlocking a core ospace..... it's really, really bad and often times has irepparable consequences!Please let me know what you are trying to accomplish and I will walk you through a process to work with core ospaces.Sorry.Donna

Hi,I was not aware that i am not supposed to unlock core ospaces, :-(I received some advice here to put a break point into WebWork Ospace in order to trace the execution of my event script..I think that i have stuffed up Builder now as I am not able to login to livelink, i get an error saying that it failed to open ospaces and initialise the livelink server..So, now that i;ve stuffed everything up is there a way to fix it? Or do i need to reinstall Builder?

Jason, I'm going to echo Donna here and remind everyone that in the Builder course we state this over and over that you should NEVER unlock Livelink's OSpaces for the very reason to avoid the position that Asha is in right now.Asha, as you have unlocked some of Livelink's OSpaces and have perhaps changed something, none of us are able to help you. Essentially what you have done by unlocking the OSpaces is the same as if you had re-compiled the kernel of Linux. As I see it you have two choices:1) If you can remember exactly which OSpaces you unlocked and which changes you made, you can set everything back to the way it was.2) If you can't remember EXACTLY, then:a) Uninstall your moduleb) Uninstall Livelink, all modules, and Builderc) Remove any Livelink folders that the uninstall process did not clean upd) Install Livelink, optional modules and Buildere) Install your custom module and take it from there.I suspect you haven't done too much with your custom module and if that's the case then I would also suggest completely deleting it and starting fresh.I would also suggest you to take a day or two and re-read the Builder course notes and pay particular attention to the notes we put at the side.Once you have re-installed everything I suspect all this curious behaviour will disappear and everything will be back to normal. At that point we will be in a position to assist you.Best of luck and please let us know how you progress.Howard

If you continue on, you may continue to see unpleasant behavior and we will never know if it is the code you are working on or a corrupt core ospace.Once you have re-installed, let me know what it is you are trying to do - I will be more than happy to walk you through the process step-by-step - or send you code samples if I have some.It really is a fun development environment once you get over the first few bumps in the road - so, again, please don't be dis-heartened...I promise you that "OScript is OK!" and you will begin to enjoy it!!! ;o)Also, you should be able to set a breakpoint on a script without unlocking the ospace. give it a try and let me know if i am wrong on that.Donna

FYI: If you put a breakpoint in an unlocked ospace and you save it (close the builder), the breakpoint is also saved.

The only way to remove the breakpoint is by unlocking the OSpace and remove te breakpoint.

It is not possible to remove a breakpoint permanently from a locked ospace. If you remove a breakpoint from a locked ospace it is only removed for the current builder session.
