Message from Paul O'Hagan via eLinkHi there,Do you mean you want the number of times a document has been "clicked" to beused to help in the definition of the relevancy ranking? If so, there's no easy way to do this today. We're working on changes tothe relevancy ranking algorithm that will allow you to take this informationinto account, but it won't be done until the next release of Livelink. TheRecommender shows you the number of times a document's been viewed, buttoday that's not an exported region it's a count. We'll be changing thattoo.By the way, as a little background to this I thought you might like to knowthat all document regions are weighted equally when calculating scores;however, you can influence the scoring of search results by weightingcertain document regions more heavily than others. You do this by adding thefollowing entry to the opentext.ini file.[searchengine]ExtraRanking=RegionName.Integer, RegionName.Integer,We recommend that you weight regions using a value between 1 and 10.Hope it helps!--P-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: Development Discussion[mailto:development@elinkkc.opentext.com]Sent: Monday, February 16, 2004 1:05 AMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: How to display the search results based on document hitsHow to display the search results based on document hitsPosted by Deo, Anuradha S on 02/16/2004 01:03 AMcan we modify the search algorithm so as to display the results on the basison the document hits.We need this urgently.[To reply to this thread, use your normal E-mail reply function.]============================================================Discussion: Development Discussion

Message from Paul O'Hagan via eLinkA region is metadata that can be made displayable and/or searchable. Youget to the regions page where you define them by selecting "Regions" off asearch manager of a data source in the System Object Volume (admin.indexpage). The help file associated with the page is wbo_confrgix.htmlHope it helps!--P-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: Development Discussion[mailto:development@elinkkc.opentext.com]Sent: Tuesday, February 17, 2004 1:17 AMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: Can you elaborate on the "Regions"Can you elaborate on the "Regions"Posted by Deo, Anuradha S on 02/17/2004 01:16 AMcan you explain what do you mean by Regions??we will be interested in that...[To reply to this thread, use your normal E-mail reply function.]============================================================Topic: How to display the search results based on document hits
