Document Permissions of Deleted User.

When a user or group is assigned to a document, either as a owner or via a permision assignment.When this user or group is deleted, the entry still shows int he list.Via the Livelink administration utiltities, there is a "button' to Remove the entry fromt he list.Where can this be performed within in LAPI (Java) ?Thanks
