Password Expiration causes GetCurrentUserID to return undefined

When testing for a valid username/password. I am allocating a session and creating a new LAPI_USERS object with that session. I then use the GetCurrentUserID to verify that a valid username/password has been submitted. The problem is that even when a valid username/password is submitted, if the password is expired, the GetCurrentUserID returns undefined, thus implying that the username/password is incorrect.Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve this problem?
