Manual Live Report

I'm currently trying to create a "manual Live Report" in which when the user selects an icon, SQL queries are automatically made and a graph is created. I'm guess that the Report OSpace will be used, but I cannot find any documentation on it. Also, is there any documentation on how to use any graphing applets. Thanks.
