Can report results appear in a small frame window inside the customview.html ?

Hi,our main frontpage on livelink contains a customview.html properly formatted to guide the user to different groups of topics.We want to include in this page a "most popular documents" window displaying the top-10 of the week.I already prepeared the livelireport that displays those results in the standard way: occupying whole livelink window.The question is:How can I redirect the results (just the 10 lines of the results, without the livelink headers) to be displayed inside a small frame window inside the customview.html?I believe the "top-10 list" is a very useful addition to the frontpage of any EDMS, but I cannot find information on how to do it with livelink.Your help and ideas would be very much appreciated on this issue.Thank you!Michael

Yes you can, if you run your LiveReport and then copy the URL of the output screen and then create an IFrame in your CustomView.HTML file and set the SRC property of that IFrame to the URL you copied earlier it works.

Steven, unfortunately, we do not have WebReports.Greg, the idea you proposed will also display the standard livelink headers with the menu, etc. So it will be both confusing to the user and would need much space on the window.Here is my next question:Do you think there is a way to export the report's results (not the report itself) and use an xsl style to convert it to something readable?I could then redirect this xsl_tranformed xml_export to the small iframe showing (at last) the TOP 10 of our intranet.Any help in this direction?Thank you,Michael

We hope that maybe the new v9.5 that we will install it allows the reports to appear without the headers and footers.Michael

But if it displays the LiveReport results in iFrame and those LiveReport results are hyperlinked, then by clicking on those hyperlinks will open within the iFrame...can we open the links of LiveReport in Livelink page itself rather than opening in iFrame..?

In v9.5 you have the appearances object.Using appearances, you can create reports that do not contain the surrounding livelink staff, but display only the report hearer row and the data.Create a folder called e.g. 'bare reports' and put inside the report you want to display and the appearance that hides all unwanted stuff.In the iframe of the customview call that report.In order to open the link in the whole document and not inside the iframe , use in the header style of the appearance.Good luck!Michael Ioannides

...this almost works...if your LiveReport is returning Livelink items (for example, folders), when you click on the name of the item, the <base target="_top"> works OK. It redirects the whole page (not the iframe) to the new location.

However, if you use the function menu of the item and select the General properties page, the standard Livelink view is displayed within the IFrame and not the whole page.

Yes, you are right.I was not able to fix the function box javascript to popup on the parent window.To overcome this, I hide the function box with proper CSS in the appearance header.Michael
