Link MyDocuments to Livellink??? - more clarification of question. Posted by EDAIRF01User1 (Huie, Ken) on 08/17/2004 11:52 AM In reply to: Link MyDocuments to Livellink??? Posted by EDAIRF01User1 (Huie, Ken) on 08/16/2004 01:14 PM All,This may already be clear, but just in case... What we are considering is mapping the MyDocuments folder to individual's Personal Workspaces. So that if a user is working in Word and saves to a folder in MyDocuments the file is placed in Livelink rather then the hard drive. This will allow users with roaming profiles, or that might be working from a remote location to still have access to their docuemnts. As well this will help to insure the data is properly backed up.So to recap...1. Can MyDocuments be mapped to Livelink Personal workspace?2. If this can be done, will it only support specific file types i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe? We would need to save any file type to MyDocuments.Best to you all &Thanks in advance,Ken Huie

I was able to attain the information on Doorways. Although this does not look like it can entirely fulfill the requirement. The idea of mapping 'MyDocuments' to Livelink was so that Livelink would actually become the source where 'MyDocuments' are stored and therefore the files are backed up as they are apart of the Livelink system.Ken
