Migrating from CreateFolder to CreateObjectEx

The documentation suggests that CreateFolder and CreateReference will still work. However, I am unable to compile my java servlet while referencing them in 9.1.0.3. Does this mean that these functions have been removed completely? If so, I have had a look at CreateObjectEx and the documentation does not describe many of the arguments, and possible values for this function (in particular how I might use it to replace CreateFolder and CreateReference).Best Regards.
