Difference with LAPIs

We realized that LAPIs have a different size depending if they come from a SDK CD or from a Livelink Server installation. We are using 9.1.4 version (Server version is spanish one). Also there are some LAPI in one side that don't exist in the other. Is there any reason for this difference?We want to migrate soon to 9.1.4 version and we want to know which APIs must use for our JAVA development.
