What is the purpose of the "reports volume"
David_Pollock
Could someone explain why the Reports Volume is a useful structure within LL? I'd like to organize my reports, but I can't create sub-folders in the Reports Volume to group them more logically. I can create a report in an arbitrary folder (and those reports don't show up in the Report Volume), so why even have a Reports Volume? Is there any reason I shouldn't just create a separate folder structure for reports and move all the reports from the "reports volume" to my reports folders? Thanks, -Dave

Message from Lange Harald via eLinkI wondered about this also .... I experienced though, that when you install a new LL version or a new module (e.g. LL-Explorer 4.4.2), Live reports may be added (and also changed??) in the LR-Volume.You should consider that when reorganizing your reports.Best Regards,Harald Lange --------------------------------------------------------Harald Lange IMS Consulting & DevelopmentCom IT OP SUP 2 phone: +49 89 636 53812 (Mon-Wed.)Siemens AG mailto:Harald.Lange@siemens.com--------------------------------------------------------> -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht-----> Von: eLink Discussion: Livelink LiveReports Discussion > [mailto:livereportsdiscussion@elinkkc.opentext.com] > Gesendet: Freitag, 19. Message from Bhupinder Singh via eLinkThe reports volume is what all users see by default when they select thePersonal menu, click "Reports", and click the "LiveReports" tab. You canthink of it as a special container for LiveReports accessed in astandard way by all users. I do agree that we should provide the abilityto create sub-folders in this volume, so I've gone ahead and entered thefollowing bug for you in the Open Text Bugs Database:Bug # 1967661Unable to create sub-folders in the Reports Volume where system-wideLiveReports are stored- Bhupinder------------------------------------------------------ Bhupinder Singh, B.Math., B.Ed. Hi,Is there any news regarding this opportunity ?We're having the same request for html pages. As Livereports are sometimes not "user friendly" enough, we have made some custom HTML skins with loads of javascript to enhance parameter selection.Unfortunately, those HTML pages cannot be placed in the system report volume, so we let them in standard folders...Any suggestion for a workaround ?GreetingsKarl Noben

Hi,I'm also interested in this. We have hundreds of reports and we're thinking about creating a new folder structure for them elsewhere in livelink. If we can't create this folder structure in the reports volume, is there a way we can change the Reports link in the Personal menu to point to the new folder we've created? I've read about some customization to the menus but can't figure out how to change an existing menu item. Thanks,Julie
