LAPI and Remote Cache and custom node type

Dear eLinkCan anyone comment as to whether adding a custom Node type to Livelink would affect performance of Remote Cache.We have added a new Node to Livelink called "MeCCA Document" and it is the only object that you cannot add while using Remote Cache access to Livelink.Can anyone shed some light on why it could possibly be happenning and what would be the way forward to resolve it.We are using Livelink 9.1 sp2 and Remote Cache 3.0.0.Many thanks,
