Problem with event trigger script - database row locked?

On initiation of a workflow I call an event script which starts an external (perl) script via http request. This script retrieves the current values of the database table (associated with the web form). The problem is that somehow i cannot get the database values of the current workflow (although it works fine in the event script on livelink side). Is the current data row somehow locked by livelink? Is there any way I can end the initiation process and then call my external script? Neither implementing the script at "initiation" nor at "step becomes ready" in the first step after initiation worked.Please help! Veronika

It should work if you use the XML Interchange step to communicate with mthe perl script.
