Livelink 9.5 Installer and Windows XP Pro for development?

I was hoping to install 9.5 on my laptop for testing out Java modules and everything else.I have done this in the past before with previous releases.Will the installer (or Livelink) work with Windows XP Pro? I'm not asking if it is certified for production use, but will it run..for development purposes? I'd hate to hear that I have the wrong OS :-)When I run the installer for UTF-8 , it tries to start unpacking a bunch of files, then comes up with an error "Can't run 16-bit Windows program". And, "Cannot find file C:\DOCUME~1\987123\Local Settings\Temp\pft3a~tmp\SETUP.EXE (or one of its components). Check to ensure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available."Also, I'm not running it from the CD. I copied the installer locally. I don't have problems with the standard Livelink 9.5 on Windows XP Pro.

I never tried the UTF-8 version.

I've solved it by opening a command prompt to the directory where the Livelink installer is, creating a directory, ie. Apparently the installer doesn't like it if the path is too long.Thanks to Google, I found a post on an Oracle forum where someone else had a similiar problem with an installer:http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jsp?forum=80&thread=212213&message=630022"...For those who find this thread through a search, the problem is that Repository Reports in Designer doesn't appreciate the path for Temp (%TMP% or %TEMP%) to be longer than 30 characters.The path is longer than 30 characters in our environment most of the time (we use dynamic local user policies, and sometimes a user gets lucky), so I will be setting the temp variables at login to c:\temp - which fixed Repository Reports."I did something similiar by reducing the length of the path.The exe actually unpacks to a temp directory if you try to run it. With WinZip installed I simply right clicked on the exe and let WinZip extract the installer. OK. Now I have setup.exe and all related files. But, I got the same error when I ran executed setup.exe again.So, I moved the installation directory to a higher path:I was keeping my installer in path like this: C:\MyStuff\Livelink\Livelink950\Livelink_950_UTF8.exeThat's quite a few characters.
