Other features for a categoryattribute?

We would like to have possibility to make an attribute unique or to let for example 3 attributes beeing unique together.Another features is: if a value is chosen, you sholdn't be able to change it.Somebody how knows anything about this?

I think you should create a custom attribute type.

When the attribute is saved, then certain functions of your attribute object are called. In one of them you have to do the check.

GetValueFromRequest comes to mind as the right place.
