Same Database, two WebServers plus Admin Server and a large number of Modules- Livelink 91SP3

Dear eLinkCan anyone comment/ help me with Livelink 9.1SP3 Clustered setup.If you can imagine that there are three Livelink servers -2 WebServers - WEB10 and WEB20ANDOne Admin Servers - cldidx10Question 1If there is a large number of Modules used within organisation. They all connect to the same DB, so I presume that all relevant Modules have to be installed on all machines?Question 2Does it matter which Server is used as a PRIMARY Livelink Notification Server, if the isntructions of the following tip is followed through, provided that Admin Server is running on that box, say WEB10 -https://knowledge.opentext.com/knowledge/llisapi.dll?func=ll&objId=3499001&objAction=ArticleViewI repsume the same as with previous versions of LivelinkAdmin service needs to run (Windows platform) on WEB10 in order to make Agents work???Question 3Just in case we need to reconnect to a Livelink backup database all we need to to is to stop LL services, thencomments out the following entries within opentext.ini filesdftConnection=%productionDB%[dbconnection:%productionDB%]and then restart LLServices sequentially, starting from the Admin Server I guess (?) and choose Select Exisiting DB option from the Admin Pages for all Servers???Please correct me if I am wrong here.Any help will be much appreciated.RegardsEdward DudetskyEdward.Dudetsky@causeway.com

We have very much the same set up as you. Comments on your questions...Question 1 - I am assuming there is some kind of load balancing going on between web10 and web20, and the end user never really knows which box they will hit. In this case both boxes need to look pretty much the same...that is have the same configuration (mimetypes, opentext.ini, same modules installed, etc...). The Admin box could look totally different, to a point. Some modules change the schema and pretty much force you to install them, but others do not. However, we try to keep all 3 of ours looking the same...the Admin box is a great place to snoop around, gather logs, test/try things out without affecting end users too much.Question 2 - I see you say it needs to run on WEB10 in order to work...why is that? We are able to run agents solely on our Admin box.Question 3 - Not sure you need to comment out the existing DB stuff. You should be able to "Change Current DB" in the admin pages and it takes care of all that.Regards,John Simon
