Livelink & Siteminder

Hi,I manage a Livelink 9.103 systems which is configured to authenticate with Sun One 5.2 LDAP server.Than we use a Netegrity Policy Server V6.0 for SSO; I installed Siteminder agent and configured the IIS which supports Livelink to work with SSO. If i try to access a page (not Livelink, but for instance the Default web site) on that IIS server Siteminder agent works fine. But if i try to access Livelink, after Siteminder authentication, Livelink prompts its own authentication page (and i'm unable to login).I tried to insert this line into the opentext.ini file (Section Security):Authentication_User=HTTP_SM_USERbut it doesn't work...Note: SetRemoteUser on SiteMinder Agent Conf Object is set to YESWhere can i find any documentation explaining the proper Livelink configuration? Thanks,Federico Bernardello

Hi Frederico,
The Authentication_User parameter you describe is only supported for LAPI requests. Standard Livelink request handlers will only look for REMOTE_USER.
If you are able to log in to Livelink as Admin, you can run ?func=admin.testargs to verify that REMOTE_USER is being passed properly. If you are not able to log in as Admin, you can set wantTestArgs=TRUE in the [options] section of opentext.ini, restart Livelink, and access the same request through ?func=testargs. The option wantTestArgs should be disabled again immediately after this test.
If REMOTE_USER is being passed, check that you have a Directory Services authentication method selected. From ?func=admin.index, select Choose Directory Services and verify that Authentication is set to something other than 'None'.
Hope this helps,
Geoff

Where can i find any documentation explaining the proper Livelink configuration?

Hi Geoff,Thanks for help. I'm working on this exact same thing myself and found the same issue just today.I checked the REMOTE_USER arg, as you suggested, and it is not being passed through. On other instances of Livelink that I have running with an Iplanet web server the REMOTE_USER does get passed through. Is there some sort of limitation with IIS?Thanks,Jonathan Chang

IIS needs to be configured for basic auth allowing the cookie to pass in clear text. Once that happens you will be able to get the cookie to pass through.Check Boxes Turned On:Anonymous Access Basic AuthenticationCheck Boxes Turned Off:Integrated Windows Authentication Turned on by default!
