Recommendations for 9.5 Architecture
Colin_McMillan_(cmcmillan_-_(deleted))
Hi AllWe are currently assessing an upgrade to LL 9.5 and decided it would be a good time to rethink our architecture. I'm interested in any advice people can offer on hardware and configuration. Our current setup is as follows (all running Win2K Server):2 x Web servers & 1 x Admin server, each:Dual Xeon 1.8 GHz Dell Poweredge 26502 GB RAM1 Livelink instance running 3 threadsSun One Web Server 6.0 SP5The two web servers are load balanced through a Cisco Local Director box.1 x Meeting Zone server:Compaq Proliant DL380PIII 1.4 GHz1 GB RAMMeeting Zone usage is light at the moment but we want to promote its use in the future.1 x Remote Cache serverDell Optiplex P4 2.8 GHz1 GB RAM1 x Oracle 9.1 database running on Sun 1 x SUN T3 disk array containing one 500GB external document store----------We have 1000 users accessing the system daily.Current usage is showing fairly high peaks on the web server, with occasional slow performance. Anything workflow or task related takes a very long time to process.----------We are considering moving to 9.5 SP1 on Windows or LINUX, potentially on IBM Blade servers, and possible moving our document store to IBM SAN disk array.----------Any recommendations anyone can make regarding optimum processor/instance/thread ratio, server configuration, operating system etc would be most appreciated. Thanks!Colin
