I am using the api with java. I am trying to just verify if a particular single document exists, and the only real info about the document I will ever have is a nodeId and possibly some part of a document title, as in a URL like:http://insight.mycompany.com/Livelink/llisapi.dll/BioLoader_Arch_Scoping.doc?func=doc.Fetch&nodeId=14770592&docTitle=BioLoader+Arch+ScopingThe query string parameter "nodeId=14770592" apparently is the only reliable unique identifier for the document.How can I verify this using the LAPI_SEARCH? In other words, I'd like to use the ApplyQuery(...) method to search for the document using just the nodeId as a filter.Can anyone help with this?

Message from Nair, Krishnankutty N. via eLinkProbably if you looked up the documentation on lapi it is said thatyou can do Livelink Query language.If OTDataID(read dtree DataID) is aqueryable fieldask your Admin whether that is queryable in the regions map.I do notthink it is enabled by default.But I am not sure what you are trying toget if you have the nodeid it is a primary key in the schema,so yourassumptionis right,there are no two objects in the same livelink schema with thesame dataidaka nodeid. Your suggestion to use the "GetObjectInfo()" method was perfect. I searched through the threads and found some sample code that did the trick. Thanks again. I probably should mention that I have no experience with LAPI. We use a Livelink repository here, but no one is doing what I needed done. That is to search the repository for the existence of a document knowing as little as the nodeId.Mark.
