Creating a new Node Calendar - OnTime/Project

I'm working on a module that works like Projects and has its own subtype. The module works fine, but when I try and create a project on a server containing OnTime I get errors as the only child node of WebOnTime.NodeCalendar is Project, if I create a new child node in there for my new Project type it all works. but I need to do this programatically, any ideas ?
