LDAP Read-Only Server Configuration
DJ_Vondruska
Some of these settings are stumping me. In the configuration settings for LDAP Read-Only synchronization I'm confused with the Search Root field and the LDAP Username field. I see the examples that are is given in the installation guide but they don't mean anything to me. For the Search Root field, is the ou part suppose to come from somewhere or is it trivial what you put in there and if this is not going to be an extranet is my Windows domain different? For the LDAP Username is their example saying that the user name that was created was called Directory Manager and what is the cn=users for? Why couldn't they just have it accept a regular domain username and password? If anyone could give me some better examples of valid input for this whole section I would appreciate it.

Message from Chris Wagg via eLinkThese settings are passed to your LDAP server to run an LDAP query, sothey need to follow standard LDAP format.Your best resource will probably be your LDAP administrator, but forsome people, that isn't an option. In that case, I would recommend opening a ticket with support. As longas you are able to provide them with some information, they should beable to help you out with this.Chris-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: Livelink Directory Services Discussion[mailto:directoryservices@elinkkc.opentext.com] Sent: Wednesday, December 21, 2005 8:52 AMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: LDAP Read-Only Server ConfigurationLDAP Read-Only Server ConfigurationPosted by Vondruska, DJ on 12/21/2005 08:47 AMSome of these settings are stumping me. I have been informed that the Directory Services module does not support a two domain structure like we have implemented in our AD configuration. Has anyone found a way around this? Thank you for the information Chris, I will contact support and see where I can go from here.
