How Do I Create a "From Here" Permissions Report
Jim_Coursey
I would like to have the ability to have a report in a folder that will identify the permissions on the folder and at least its direct contents. The report should "know" what folder it is in and should run inside a given folder without having to browse for the target folder. If copied into another folder, the copy, when run, would identify the permissions within the folder where the copy is located.Has anyone done anything like this? If so, are you willing to share the code?

Message from Nair, Krishnankutty N. via eLinkDo you have web reports on your install ?I am thinking web reports cando a lot of javascriptManipulation so it could be used for finding the folder on which the LRis sitting. If that does not work does your organization use IE,then you can executean inline script something,on right click says "Find who can see me".Irecently rigged up an IE RT click stuff that would parse an opentextURL for our org borrowing ideas from OpenText,Going to the functionsbutton and doing general->and the four javascript options email, open andsuch like. Our people found it cumbersome going into thefunctions->Properties->general page(I know pampered people).Alsowww.greggriffiths.org has a lot of weblingo changes thru javascript andhe is a master at those things.Another thing that comes to mind issomething called iFrames.Having said all these(not bragging, just trying to help out) the sql foryour report is easy and what I think you are asking is To pass aparameter to it based on a folder context,I do not have anythingwritten. Also have you seen the project participants link that Bhupinderhasfunc=Projects.ProjectOutline&objid=28202599 that can be used to printfolder informationMaybe you can get creative and see it will show you permissions also. Now aren't you asking for trouble showing permissions of folder contentsto peopleWho should not know it.Also Greg's site at one time has an oscriptmodule that does exactly that Allows a read only version of thepermissions bit .. Or it may in KB itself I don't rememebr, but I thinkAstrazeneca developed it-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: Livelink LiveReports Discussion[mailto:livereportsdiscussion@elinkkc.opentext.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 25, 2006 8:27 AMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: How Do I Create a "From Here" Permissions ReportHow Do I Create a "From Here" Permissions ReportPosted by Coursey, Jim on 01/25/2006 09:24 AMI would like to have the ability to have a report in a folder that willidentify the permissions on the folder and at least its direct contents. The report should "know" what folder it is in and should run inside agiven folder without having to browse for the target folder. Message from Greg Petti via eLinkHi,If you use a WebReport to launch this report, the WebReport includes a tagcalled [LL_REPTAG_PARENTID /] which can be used to insert the appropriate IDas a parameter for the main report, assuming the WebReport has been createdin the folder you are interested in. You can also use: [LL_REPTAG_MYID NODEINFO:PARENTID /].
