Differentiating between LAPI and Web requests

There are some functions which are called both by LAPI and by requests from the web (for example NodeUpdateSubclassPost for LLNodes). Is there a way to tell in such cases whether the request is coming from web or LAPI? Thanks in advance!Yiannos
