Dates in Eforms

A date in an HTML eform is configured to auto-populate the today's date in an initiator view of a workflow. The form then travels to another step with another view of the form and the date is not appearing. The eform then moves to a folder through data export and is stored as PDF. The date is appearing in that version.Any thoughts on why the date is not appearing on subsequent views in the eform during the workflow but appears in the initiator view and the final view of the form?
