Where is the category inheritance information stored?
Stefan_Becker_(stefanbecker_-_(deleted))
Hi!I would like to know where the information is stored whether a category inheritance is enabled or disabled. For me it seem it is not in the llattrdata table and I have no idea where else to look at. So if anyone knows, please tell me.btw. it would be a realy good thing if you could preselect, in the category definition, if the inheritance shall be enabled or disabled by default.regards Stefan

So if anybody else is interested in this here it is.Thanks to a colleague, we looked at this again and found it in llattrblobdata.Unfortunately it is stored in the long field segmentblob, so not that easy to use via livereport.with inheritance enabled the field looks like this:...'ID'=1,'Values'=...and if you disable the inheritance it changes to:...'ID'=1,'NonInherit'=true,'Values'=...

Just to add more detail, for those monitoring this thread that may not be aware of the inheritance features for categories:
Category metadata associated with a folder is, by default, inherited by objects added to that folder. The only exception to this case of which I am aware is when inheritance has been specifically turned off for the particular folder. To turn off category inheritance on a folder:
1. Go to the Categories tab on the folder (function icon for the folder --> Info/Properties --> Categories)
2. Click the "Edit Inheritance" button in the top right section of the categories page
3. Check the "Disable Inheritance" checkbox.
So, unless the aforementioned "Disable Inheritance" checkbox is checked, categories on a particular folder are automatically inherited by objects added to that folder.
When "Disable Inheritance" is checked, the SegmentBlob column in the LLAttrBlobData table shows a "'NonInherit'=true" value, as in the following example taken from that column:
A<1,?,{15161,1}=A<1,?,'CustomID'=0,'ID'=1,'NonInherit'=true,'Values'={A<1,?,2=A<1,?,'ID'=2,'Values'={'Hello'}>>}>>
