Looking for Best Practices for Directory Services and logging into Livelink
Drane_Matthew
When you have Directory Services enabled and the Livelink URL is within your Intranet/Trusted Zones in IE, then users are signed into Livelink directly without even being prompted for a userid/password. This normally works well.I'm looking for best practices in how others have configured their environment, though, to make it possible for users to sign in to Livelink from a desktop that is not their own. For example, what if somone is in someone else's office and they have a need to temporarily login to Livelink as themselves or they are in a training lab of some sort and need to login. Without directory services, users can easily sign in as themselves from any location, but once enabled, this would seem to become more problematic.Any suggestions on ways to overcome this?Using Directory Services 2.3.1 / Livelink 9.5 SP1 / Active Directory / Windows environment / IIS

you can change your IE settings - Tools, Internet Options, Security, custom level...the last option deals with user authentication. If you change it to "prompt" then the user will be presented with a challenge...I didn't say this was a great option but it works in a pinch...
