LAPI DLL Bin path location - best practice ?

What is the best practice for the location of the LAPI Dll's ?We are using LAPI with Microsoft Access 2003.The Access 2003 datbase is run from a network share by all staff. The intention is to locate the lapi dll's in a bin folder off the network share ie p:\ausdb\bin and then make a reference to these in the local path environmental variable on each machine.What is best practice ?Should we install the LAPI Dll's locally or on network share ?If on a network, it makes it easy to update the dlls. However am unsure if performance degrades when running on network share compared to local machine.Thanks
