Invoking LL Explorer's Open/Save Dialogue

Is it possible to invoke the open/save to Livelink dialogue boxes available from the Livelink menus within Excel etc via LAPI?We currently have a number of in-house applications that generate files and then display a standard Windows dialogue so that the user can select where they should be saved. It would be nice to be able to point to the Livelink folder structure in the same way.
