Does anybody know how to create a classification using LAPI. In particular how to set the selectable=true extended value?

Message from Carsten Kulms via eLinkClassifications can be created as other objects by CreateObjectExfunction. You need to know the correct volume id.> In particular how to set the selectable=true extended value?Sorry, that is currently not possible. The flag is stored, among others, in the "extended_data" property(column), in a special format. Afaik there is no function available thatyou could use to access and/or manipulate this data. Please contact the Open Text Customer Support if there is a reallystrong need to do so.

Message from Sherrie **** via eLinkHi Carsten,Glad to know that CreateObjectEx can create classifications. Could youplease tell what should be in the parameter createInfo, specificallycreateInfo.request? Within the regular LAPI, we can find the format ofcreateInfo.request for creating the following objects:Category, Channel, Compound Document, Discussion, Document, Folder,Milestone, News, Poll, Project, Reply, Task Group, Task List, Task,Topic and URL.Within the RM LAPI, the format of createInfo.request can also be foundfor creating Physical Objects. However, I could not find anywhere in the LAPI document the descriptionof the format for creating RM Classification or Livelink Classification.Could you please shed some light?Thanks,Sherrie-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: LAPI Discussion[mailto:lapi@elinkkc.opentext.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 03, 2007 9:44 AMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: RE LAPI and CLassificationsRE LAPI and CLassificationsPosted by eLink on 01/03/2007 09:43 AMMessage from Carsten Kulms via eLinkClassifications can be created as other objects by CreateObjectExfunction. You may look at this snippet here that gives an example of how to create a new Category using VB.NET API. Also, if you feel like adding anything to it, comments, discoveries or maybe correct problems, feel free to do it and while you're at it, why not create a full tutorial on how to use categories in LAPI :P

, regarding the extended data information, up to my knowledge, you can modify it. To do this, you would call.ToLLValue("ExtendedData") on the objectInfo LLValue. This will return the LLValue representing the content of the ExtendedData property. If you don't know the internal structure, you could use the function located on the communities web site to get an LLValue as a tree-view string.

, using LLValue methods, modify/add the required values. Finally, to save it, call the UpdateObjectInfo method of the DocumentsAPI.I hope this will help and encourage you in participating to this magnificent web site that is communities! ;)Note: if you don't have an account on it, don't panic :P Simply use the link located below the login fields.
