Display columns as rows with livereport (1 record, vertically)
Michael_Ioannides
Hi,livereports are great when displaying information from many records as a table.But if I want to display many fields of just one record, what do I do?Instead of this default result:Field1 Field2 Field3 Field4 Field5 Field6Value1 Value2 Value3 Value4 Value5 Value6I would like have them as this:Field1 Value1Field2 Value2Field3 Value3Field4 Value4Field5 Value5Field6 Value6Is there a trick for that? (please respond YES)Thank you,Michael

- use Webreports. (You can do this and much more with it and whatyou just asked). If you are not sure how to do this in webreports, letme know and I can post some code for you here.Srini-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: Livelink LiveReports Discussion[mailto:livereportsdiscussion@elinkkc.opentext.com] Sent: Thursday, January 18, 2007 7:09 AMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: Display columns as rows with livereport (1 record, vertically)Display columns as rows with livereport (1 record, vertically)Posted by Ioannides, Michael on 01/18/2007 10:07 AMHi,livereports are great when displaying information from many records as atable. But if I want to display many fields of just one record, what do I do?Instead of this default result:Field1 Field2 Field3 Field4 Field5 Field6Value1 Value2 Value3 Value4 Value5 Value6I would like have them as this:Field1 Value1Field2 Value2Field3 Value3Field4 Value4Field5 Value5Field6 Value6Is there a trick for that? Message from Heltzel, Cyrille via eLinkHi Michel, Yes there are tricks for that, you could use the "Case". Here is an example. The fieldnames are in dutch, sorry for that. regardsCyrille select case when wa.WF_ATTRID = 2 then 'Postcode' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 3 then 'Adres' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 4 then 'Plaats' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 5 then 'Naam' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 6 then 'Voorletters' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 7 then 'Gedoortedatum' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 8 then 'Telefoonnummer' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 9 then 'Datum aanvang waterlevering' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 10 then 'Huidige watermeterstand' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 11 then 'Aantal bewoners' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 12 then 'Acceptgiro' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 13 then 'Automatische incasso' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 14 then 'Machtigingskaar' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 15 then 'Rekeningnr' when wa.WF_ATTRID = 16 then 'Objectnr' else '????' end AS "Attribuut naam", case when wa.WF_ATTRID = 2 then wa.WF_VALSTR when wa.WF_ATTRID = 3 then wa.WF_VALSTR when wa.WF_ATTRID = 4 then wa.WF_VALSTR when wa.WF_ATTRID = 5 then wa.WF_VALSTR when wa.WF_ATTRID = 6 then wa.WF_VALSTR when wa.WF_ATTRID = 7 then to_char(wa.WF_VALDATE, 'yyyy/mm/dd') when wa.WF_ATTRID = 8 then wa.WF_VALSTR when wa.WF_ATTRID = 9 then to_char(wa.WF_VALDATE, 'yyyy/mm/dd') when wa.WF_ATTRID = 10 then wa.WF_VALSTR when wa.WF_ATTRID = 11 then to_char(wa.WF_VALINT, '0099') when wa.WF_ATTRID = 12 then case when wa.WF_VALINT = 0 then 'Nee' when wa.WF_VALINT = 1 then 'Ja' end when wa.WF_ATTRID = 13 then case when wa.WF_VALINT = 0 then 'Nee' when wa.WF_VALINT = 1 then 'Ja' end when wa.WF_ATTRID = 14 then case when wa.WF_VALINT = 0 then 'Nee' when wa.WF_VALINT = 1 then 'Ja' end when wa.WF_ATTRID = 15 then wa.WF_VALSTR when wa.WF_ATTRID = 16 then wa.WF_VALSTR else '????' end AS "Ingevulde waarde", wa.wf_id from wfattrdata wa where wa.WF_ID in ( select wad.WF_ID from wfattrdata wad where wad.WF_VALSTR = '111111') ________________________________From: eLink Discussion: Livelink LiveReports Discussion [mailto:livereportsdiscussion@elinkkc.opentext.com]Sent: Thu 1/18/2007 4:09 PMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: Display columns as rows with livereport (1 record, vertically)Display columns as rows with livereport (1 record, vertically)Posted by Ioannides, Michael on 01/18/2007 10:07 AMHi,livereports are great when displaying information from many records as a table. Another solution is to use unions but this would make your query really more havy to run.Something likeSelect F1, F2, F3 from T1would becomeSelect F1 From T1UNIONSelect F2 From T1UNIONSelect F3 From T1You may have to convert your values to a common type so that the query can run.

We do not have the webreports module.I will try the sql "transformation" tricks you suggested.Thank you for your replies.Michael
