Livelink Web Services fetchVersionSegmented

Hi, I am trying to use fetchVersionSegmented via Axis web services and it returns null, downloading the same file using fetchVersion works fine. The sample code from Livelink Web Services Developer's Reference also fails, err msg "non nillable variable is null - content". When I set this with byte array of segment size - it returns null also. Has anybody out got ideas, used fetchVersionSegmented with success? Pls help. Sample code attached.
