Message from Steven Osborn via eLinkI thought subscribers to this discussion may be interested in some of the recent capabilities now available for Livelink Enterprise Server 9.5, 9.6 and 9.7 using the Livelink ECM - LiveReport Extensions 3.0.1 module. As many will know, LiveReport Extensions enhances LiveReports in a host of ways such as allowing formatted SQL, unlimited user input parameters, external DB reporting, and the option of disabling the cursor fetch mode (used by standard LiveReports) which can result in a significant performance improvement. In addition there is a new powerful SQL templating feature that allows developers to create reports that dynamically construct the SQL based on user input parameters (which can of course be passed in the URL). This new capability means that highly flexible yet secure SQL can be developed for use with reports or other Livelink applications (for example applications built with WebReports). To help developers use this feature a "how to" document has been written with lots of detailed examples that illustrate what can be done. I've attached a copy to this post for those that are interested. It can also be downloaded from the KC here:

In addition, if there is sufficient interest I'll look into setting up a public Webinar to discuss and demonstrate some of this stuff. LiveReport Extensions is the part of the Livelink ECM - WebReports offering. Customers licensed to use Livelink ECM - WebReports can download LiveReport Extensions from the Knowledge Center at no additional cost from here:
