For the deployed app you need the framework(dotnetfx.exe) bundle, the vjredistribution(vjredist.exe) library for java primtives .Also depending on how you develop lapi the lapi client files are included with theApplication and handled by the build method for visual studio. The files are freebies from the microsoft site.
For example,we have a client gui developed that works. On the deployment scenario, when they click theApp or the msi,it checks dependencies and installs framework, vjredist etc.No we do not give out lapi cd'sNor do we install visusl studio for every customer. When it is installed as a refernce these files form lapi get bundled with it
LAPI_SSPIp.dll,LAPI_NETp.dll .I beleive we just followed the OT lapi guidelines for ..NET and guess it worked.

What is necessary to successfully run a packaged LAPI program created by someone and run by another person ?Posted by Latka, Chad on 05/11/2007 12:06 PM
Has anyone encountered an issue where they could not run a LAPI program that was packaged and compiled by someone else ?
I have the same ..NET framework and also LAPI installed locally on my PC. The developer is the only person who can run his program. Not sure if I need MS Visual Studio insalled on my PC or if there is something missing in the package.
I have attached a screen shot of the error message I receive, which really does not give much information to go off of. It appears that the LAPI program is not connecting to our Livelink 9.2 application or the database by running the package.

A suggestion from a reply said to get the following files from Microsoft: framework(dotnetfx.exe) bundle, the vjredistribution(vjredist.exe)
I downloaded and installed these two files and I was able to successfully run the LAPIprogram created by our Web developer on my local machine.
Many thanks again,Chad
