create new module from existing module
Tod_Funk
Is it possible to create a new builder module from an existing builder module? I am new to builder, but I have a custom module that was created by someone else that I would like to copy and change some of the exisitng html code slightly. Other than that, the structure is exactly the same. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

Message from Hans Stoop via eLinkI think the easiest way is:- create you new module.- in the builder open another Ospace browser from the tools menu.- drag and drop the objects from the original modfule to the new module, use the copy option.- copy the webLingo files/ support files on the file system.- run build OSpacesAfterwards you still need to do the following:Search in the Oscripts code and webLingo code for $, thisshould be replace with $.If there are request handlers involved, then you may also require tochange the name of the request handler. There may be other names thatneed to be changed.Hans________________________________Hans StoopSenior Consultant, Business Unit EMEA SolutionsOpen Text Corporation Phone: +49 (0)8946291626 Fax: +49 (0)894629331626 GSM: +49 (0)172 6770120 ________________________________ The market leader in providing Enterprise ContentManagement solutions.www.opentext.com This e-mail is protected by domestic and international copyright lawsand treaties and is the property of Open Text Corporation, it maycontain confidential and/or trade secret information of the Open TextCorporation and/or its subsidiaries (OTC), and may be subject to legalprivilege in favor of OTC. Message from Nair, Krishnankutty via eLinkTo add to that, you might find it easier to use the'MakeNewModule.lxe'.Search for this in the KB to know its history etc.Iattach it anyways. This script when put into your scripts directory willgive you a skeleton module which you can play with.thanks to theoriginal players who made this .I usually use this for creating any newmodules.Usual discalimers apply.-----Original Message-----From: eLink Discussion: Livelink Builder Discussion[mailto:componentbuilder@elinkkc.opentext.com] Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2007 2:33 AMTo: eLink RecipientSubject: RE create new module from existing moduleRE create new module from existing module Posted by Stoop, Hans on05/15/2007 03:32 AMMessage from Hans Stoop via eLinkI think the easiest way is:- create you new module.- in the builder open another Ospace browser from the tools menu.- drag and drop the objects from the original modfule to the new module, use the copy option.- copy the webLingo files/ support files on the file system.- run build OSpacesAfterwards you still need to do the following:Search in the Oscripts code and webLingo code for $, thisshould be replace with $.If there are request handlers involved, then you may also require tochange the name of the request handler. if you are amending the HTML weblingo, do you really need to copy the module, is the change not to apply to that module, either by editing the WebLingo or orphaning the code, or are you creating some new functionality ? if this is the case, depending on the module it may be a lot more involved that just copying it.
