Need some information in implementing LDAP authentication

we want to implment LDap authentication for our organization.But our LDap team is reluctant to give the direct access to LDAP instead they have provided some API to conect and authenticate with LDAP.what exacty i he information needed from our LDAP Team to implement this Authentication and how to configure he Http server.could som one please help me regarding this issue?Thanks in Advance for your help.

Could get complicated without knowing your intent .Are you trying to eliminate signing on to livelinkWith userid/password seamlessly.(SSO or authentication with a directory) http and or httpsDo you want to get away from adding users/groups manually in livelink ? (synching with a directory)There are many ways to do this,so unless the variables webserver,protocol,OS are not correctly identified this could be frustrating.The directoryservices install guide explains a lot of configuration steps as well.Most of the times the livelink app server is looking for a header varaible called REMOTE_USERfor authentication.
