doc.fetch using nickname?

I'm looking for a way to call objects using the nickname rather than the objectid to make the coding simpler.what i want to do is be able to call images and reports in an application that's being developed using thier nickname, like below is done with nodeid

how would i do this with the object's nickname if possible?

As far as I can tell,. this is not out of the box, but looks to be a simple customisation to add a lookup for the Nickname when resolving the /FETCH/ URL and also you would need to add a little code to the traditional ?func=ll&objaction=fetch&objid=1234 format to lookup the Nickname as well, as long as the Nickname was not completely numeric it should be a relatively small changes to implement.
