LAPI to validate Category Attribute data

I am using LAPI to load documents into Livelink. The documents are getting stored in a external file store.I created a category with attributes and corresponding valid values. When I upload the documents into Livelink using LAPI java program, I want to validate the category attribute values.Is there any way to do it through LAPI?

This can be done in the Java LAPI program by fetching the ValidValues:

attributes.AttrGetInfo(catVersion, attrName, attrPath, attrInfo);

LLValue validValues = attrInfo.toValue("ValidValues");

Once you have the validValues you can assert if your value is valid.

Thank you Christopher Meyer.I am able to retireve the valid values of some of the attributes using the above code.Could you help me on how to retrieve the valid values if the attribute is of type Date and Integer popup?
