Workflows- Deleting a file in the workflow package

We are processing a workflow and when one of the approvers reject a document we need to delete one the document from the workflow package so the workflow initiator can try again with a new document.We are running Livelink 9.7.0Has anyone done this with or without Item Handler step? Has anyone done this with or without the Delete Node step?We would really appreciate an example of how you made this work.
