If your goal is to allow for numbers with decimal values within category attributes, then the information below should help. I haven't come across a method of allowing the "comma" symbol to be used in numeric fields.
In a category edit page, real attributes (i.e. numeric attributes that allow decimals) are not yet an option. However, they can be enabled as outlined below.
The fact that real attributes are not an option for categories is registered under bug #LPAD-1757, the status of which is "Suggestion for a future release". However, I once spoke to a developer about a comment he made indicating that it is relatively easy to implement real attributes in categories, since they are available in workflows already. He sent me a single line of OScript that will activate real attributes in V9.x. He suggested that customers create a module with this one line in the startup script; it will include the real attribute type in the category implementation.
The line of code is:
$LLIApi.LLAttributeSubsystem.AssociateTypesByCustomID( 0, { $AttrTypeReal } )
The first parameter is the implementation identifier:
0 for node category implementation,
1 for form, and
2 for workflow.
You can read the documentation about this script in Module Index in Builder in the following area:
Index : All Modules : Module kernel : Class LLAttributeSubsystem
