LQL Search with empty string

Hi, I have a category ABC, ID: 931031I want to search the Attribute ID 2 using LQL search.I want to search for empty string attribute, but the wild card "*" doesn't return empty string and if I put "" in the search it raises an error.("Attr_931031_2" : "*") -> returns all but not empty strings.("Attr_931031_2" : "") -> returns an error telling me that I have an incorrect or missing search criteria.You guys have an idea?

In Livelink 9.x, if an attribute value is blank (i.e. null), that attribute is not extracted for the object - therefore the attribute tags will not show up in the index, and hence no region will be built for them and searching on them is not possible. One alternative is to set your own "null" values as you design all your attributes (e.g. you add your own "none" as the default value in a test pop-up). It would mean more search space taken up with all your defaults but it would also support expected search functionality.

As Bhupinder said, empty values are not indexed. However, you can search for these instances with:[qlregion "Attr_931031_2"] != *Hope this helps, Steve

Your search query returns everything, even objets without the category 931031, so it's not working. If it's not indexed, I don't think we can do something good.Too bad...

How about ANDing it with an OTDCategory expression? The query below will find all objects with category 931031 assigned, and attribute Attr_931031_2 undefined. Note, at least one attribute must be defined for the OTDCategory region to be defined. [qlregion "OTDCategory" ] "931031"AND[qlregion "Attr_931031_2"] != *Regards, Steve
