I've added a function to EasyLAPI (Java) for this purpose. Say you have a Category "Test" on the Enterprise Workspace and you wish to enable inheritance:

LLObject node = s.getEnterpriseWorkspace();
LLCategoryVersion catVersion = node.getCategoryVersion("Test");
catVersion.setInheritence(true); // or false to disable
node.setCategoryInheritence(catVersion);

Have a look at the EasyLAPI source code (specifically the calls on the 3rd and 4th lines) to see how something similar could be done with C#.

EasyLAPI is written in Java but the syntax is similar to C#. Looking at the code would give you an idea of how this is done. I admit this particular feature (enabling/disabling inheritence) is a complicated, so here's a code snippet (in Java) of what you need to do:

I tried the code suggestions from Chris Meyer in the integration code we wrote. The code appears to be executing successfully (success returned) but the field "Disable Inheritance" on the web is still empty (set to false) regardless whether I set the value to true or false in the code. I would be willing to share my code with others for a peer-review unless someone has encountered a similar problem and found the solution. That might be a faster way of solving it.
