Livereport for Folder activity (new documents & versions)

I have looked through the discussions and can't find what I need and am not very good with SQL to be able to modify an existing LiveReport. What I am looking for is a Livereport that the user can select the folder container, select a date range (from and to) for all new documents and/or versions added to a folder and subfolders in that particular date range. Would someone be able to help? We use Oracle and have Livelink 9.7.1. Thank you.

You could take the existing "What's New This Month" report (in the LiveReports volume), copy it, and edit the copy to meet your requirements.

The SQL for that report is:

select * from DTree where (CreateDate>%1) and %2 order by CreateDate desc

Param %1 = This Month Start

Param %2 = Filter Permissions

As an example, to help you get start, the following modification retrieves new documents system wide within a user-specified date range:

select * from DTree where (CreateDate>%1 AND CreateDate<%2) and %3 and %4 order by CreateDate desc

Param %1 = User Input 1

Param %2 = User Input 2

Param %3 = Filter Permissions

Param %4 = Filter Document

Set the inputs to be:

Type: Date

Prompt: Select a start date

Type: Date

Prompt: Select an end date

I tacked the familar connect by clause in Oracle and included a container selection to Bhupinder's SQL query.The level indicates where the document is in the hierarchy.I find that very helpful.If you wanted to test this unextract or absorb this report into atesting livelink and see the sql on this.This will not understand projects(you can 'abs' on it and make it slow)This will not understand versions of the document ie if an existing document was added as a version in the date range only the most recent one will get there .I beleive that is because dversdata holds that info and the query is not hitting it.

Thank you so much for your help on this. That is exactly what I wanted. Now, I have another request. How do I write the SQL to show a Static folder. (a request to make it easy for the users). This report would be for the same folder and subfolders. No selecting a folder--have it hard coded into the SQL. Once I have this SQL, I can change it based upon requirements.

That is easier than what is already there.In case the exported report does not workhere is the SQL,all I dd was change %1 the first param to a hard codeselect name,dataid,subtype,level from dtree where ModifyDate >%1 AND ModifyDate <%2 and %3 and %4 connect by prior dataid=parentid start with dataid=2245The 2245 is a hard coded folder in my livelink this will change to a valid one in yours

Appu--Another LiveReport coded exactly as I needed. Thank you so much for your help. Both examples of where the user selects the container and a hard coded container were exactly what was required.

It's in the Admin Pages in LiveReports Administration. You can export and import them from there.
