HI,Currently in LL971when you click to open a tiff file, it open is seperate image viewer applcation.Is there a way to make it open in the same browser window? Menaing via soem filter packs or any otehr kind of functionality on LL?

In your opentext.ini file, do you currently have a mimetype for Tiff (for example " image/tiff ") listed in the [ViewableMimeTypes] section? If so, try removing that entry (you will have to renumber the remaining entries so they remain in sequential order if you do). Ensure you make a backup copy of the opentext.ini file before making any changes, and, restart your Livelink service after the change).

Bhupinder - or anyone else - have you had success displaying a TIFF file in a Livelink browser window? When I attempt to 'open' a TIFF file, unlike other file types that open in the browser window, TIFF files insist on actually downloading to some application in order to open.

Note: One way to check if the filter pack was installed is by looking for the existence of an opentext.ini.prefilterpack file in the config directory of your Livelink server; this is a backup copy of the opentext.ini created by the filter pack installation program.

When I clicked on the link for the TIFF you attached, it shows in the Livelink browser window, and the browser Tab heading indicates "View as Webpage", which would imply that the Knowledge Centre has the filter pack installed (and indeed, it does).

Do you have an "opentext.ini.prefilterpack" file in the config directory of your Livelink 9.5 SP1 instance? If you don't, chances are the filter pack (required for "View as Webpage") is not installed. In that case, you need the .exe file for Filter Pack 1.0.0 for Windows for Livelink 9.5 SP1 from here:

The name of the .exe file at the above location is LivelinkFilterPack_100_WIN.exe.

Bhupinder,Thanks for the tip on the .tif file showing up in the OpenText webpage and for the .prefilterpack file.However, this does not remedy the situation. I edited the .pre* file and looked for "JPEG", "TIFF", "BMP", and other graphics file type extensions/MIME types to see if I could discerne some relationship as to why TIFF uniquely does not open in the webpage. At first it appeared that "TIFF" showed up in the section [filters] where JPEG did not and I thought this was a clue. I noted that BMP files also showed up in this section and so I thought maybe then BMP files should have the same problem as TIFF files. Not! (BMP files worked just as well as JPG's).Thus it appears that something else needs tweaking. If you have suggestions, they would be appreciated.Jeff

Hello Jeff,

If you have the filter pack installed, it may be just a question of configuring it from the Livelink Administration pages and/or opentext.ini file adjustments. I would recommend opening a ticket with support@opentext.com so that a product specialist can work directly with you (via screenshare and/or phone) in getting this to work.

Bhupinder,It does sound like some setting needs tweaking. In working with some other installtions we have in my company, we discoverd that .tif files DO show in LL 9.2! (not that well, but they do show in the IE Window.)I'm working with Mike S. in support to figure out what needs tweaking.Thank you for your help.Jeff
