Synchronization Message
Pema_Mendoza
Lately whenever I do a LDAP Read-Only synchronization, I have been getting the following message for some users: "Could not get a base group. Mapping User to DefaultGroup." It doesn't appear to be affecting the users; they are still being synchronized successfully and are remaining in their other groups. I cannot tell if there is a pattern to it as the users come from different OUs. I just want to know what the cause of this message is and if I can do something to make it stop appearing. Thanks!

this message means that the department mapping for this user was unsuccessful. When this mapping fails, we map the user to the DefaultGroup.
This will not affect the user's other group memberships, but you probably want to look into why we are not able to map the user to the right department.
You will want to look at what attribute you are using for the department, do you have department mapping enabled, or disabled. If it is enabled, then look at your department mapping table, do you have a valid entry for this user's attribute value?

We do not have department mapping enabled, and have not had it enabled for a long time. This only popped up fairly recently.
