LAPI Init timeout reset
Bettina_Mastroianni
Hi All,a LAPI application fails retrieving the Enterprise node due to poor connection speed, we think, since it occurs only using encrypted laptops on a wireless encrypted VPN connection. We suspect the LAPI call times out and we were wondering whether there's a way to set up the timeout value to a specified value, in order to allow more time to execute the LAPI call.Is there any such thing/function as far as you can tell? Many thanksKind RegardsBettina

Why do I get the LAPI errors "Server router packet error" and "Server did not accept open request"?

We don't get similar behaviour otherwise. The LAPI application is a few years old and does not have such a behaviour other than in this case. The errors we see are bespoke/application handled and never the ones you mentioned. We can see the Network Speed is quite slow, that is why we assumed the request somehow times out. The LAPI developer on site has found a workaround by adding some hardcoded delay within the VB code, a "sleep 600" command, and retrying later to execute the same function succeeds. We were just wondering whether you can somehow set the timeout for the LAPI function, but maybe the timeout can be only reset on the HTTP server. Can you let me know your thoughts? Many thanksKind regardsBettina
