upload document via OScript

HI,I provide user a form where they can select a file from their local drive and then I want to programmatically via Oscript, add that file to defined location in Livelink. Similar to what Add Document link is doing.If the document is local to me and I am using my local LL instance then this works.. But if I am running browser from a different client machine from where I am uploading document to LL running on a different server, then it fails, because it is trying to locate the file on that server.. Any ideas how can I code to upload the file first from local to the server running LL and then to LL.. Or hwo can I do somethign simialr to add document link?thxsapna

The way I do this is to include a html file control no OT involved here.It will give the user a "Browse" button.Here they should select something locally for eg c:\temp\uploaded.doc.When the form is submitted and if you put a break in builder you will see in your request record the file details,its size its real name etc also a copy of the file that looks like LLA......This is the file uploaded to the webserver .When you create your node allocation and when it is time to add the version you pick that.If you put a break into the add document function also you could see what I am talking about.If this is not clear I could make a small excerpt module here.BTW if you have webreports perhaps there might even be a tag to accomplish this without oscript just thinking out loud.

Thanks Appu.. I actually do use a file control but, when I put a stop in my return RH, I don't see that parameter you are talking about.. I do see it when done by regular LL add document but not in my code.. So don't know what I am missing?? When you say webreprots, we do have the module, but how can I use a webreport tag directly in a non-webreport code?

We have several custom modules that allow users to upload documents to be stored inside Livelink. In order for this to you have to add the following attribute/value pair to your form tag inside the HTML file: enctype="multipart/form-data"Hope this helps.

Thanks Chris & Appu.. That was a great help!! I was missing the enctype.. After putting that I was able to see the addtional info and using the fucntionAssoc result = $WebDoc.WebDocUtils.CreateFileUploadDocument(fldNode,r,'FILEUPD')I was able to upload my file... I believe teh code for unique name is to just validate that if docs added under same parent have different name, correct.. I my case it will be only one doc to add, so I think I can opt out that piece of code..thanks againsapna
