Livelink Search - Summary field

When we carry out a Livelink Search the output format shows a field called "summary" which contains text. I am interested to know if the text contained by this field comes from some Livelink table?Thanks in advance for any helpful pointers.

Lindsay,

Region contains many such fields. For example OTsubType is one of them. If I want to retrieve the value of OTsubType for a known dataid through a LiveReport, I can get this value from dtree.subtype. A user is asking to display the value of summary field through a LiveReport.

Trying to understand if this is doable.

Hi Adarsh,

No, this is not achievable through a livereport.

Subtype is a column in DTree and yes, the index engine extracts that metadata and stores it in a region in the index - OTSubType.

The region OTSummary is ONLY in the index.

The content is built dynamically by the index engine based on the text that was extracted from the content of the object being indexed.

Adarsh,

To follow-up on Lindsay's comments, the summary that you see is created dynamically as Lindsay points out.

The Document Conversion process in the dataflow will filter the indexable content and pass it to a process within

the Document Conversion called the Summarizer which then looks at the first 256K of if the filtered content to create

the summary.

As Lindsay points out the summary does not exist in any table.
