Creating a Livereport that shows how many times a scope has been used in a search

We are looking to find statistics on how often a specific scope is used in a search? We would like to create a LiveReport with this data in it? I am not sure if this is something that can be done, as I can't seem to find any info on Scopes in the schema.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thank you, Lori

hello Lori,

LL Release 971 includes expanded search statistics such as how many times a slice was used, what slices are used the most, most common search queries, etc.

It can be found in the Search Administration section of the Admin Index pages.

Bhupinder,That was very helpful as we are using Livelink 9.7.0. However, I have one question on that statistic. Do you know what time frame that shows the statistics for? Is it six months, a year, etc.? We are trying to determine which slices are no longer needed.Also, is there a way to see who performed the last search on that slice?Thank you so much for your assistance thus far. I really appreciate it. It has made my job much easier.Lori

Hi Lori,

It shows all searches that are stored in the Search Statistics tables.

From the admin page it is possible to manually or automatically purge the data so you only keep the data of the last 100 days.

It will b epossible to create your own livereports based on th etables to get the data you are looking for.

It is not possible to link the queries the an individual user except for the Admin user. We have made changes to store the users with the query executed.

You're welcome Lori. Regarding your questions:

From the manage search statistics page, if you click "View Statistics Summary", there is a date field labelled "Oldest Search" under the Search Summary section. I think the statistics are cumulative from that date and time forward. To "reset" the statistic measuring counter, you would click the "Purge Search Statistics" link on the "Manage Search Statistics" page. You could, if you wished, make a backup copy of the SearchStats_xxxxxx tables prior to a purge if you wished to retain the data for historical reasons.

To see who performed the last search on a given slice, you would typically query the Searchstats_slice table. Its columns are QueryNr (a sequence number), UserID (UserID of the person who issued the search query), and Slice (the slice used in the search query); however, my queries on this table show only UserID values of 1000 (Admin) and -1 only. This is registered as bug # LPAD-17643 (userid field in the 9.7 searchstats-xxxxx tables doesn't contain userid as stated in the schema). You could contact support@opentext.com for an update on the status of that bug.
